Vehicle Maintenance and Services Overview

Colonial Tours strives to be an industry leader in its efforts to keep their equipment in top operating condition, with a total package fleet maintenance program that surpasses that of our competitors. Our P.M. program is designed to catch any mechanical issues before they happen, keeping our customers feeling secure in the fact that they are riding in a vehicle that is well kept. Our basic P.M. is performed every month to every vehicle without fail, by our highly trained veteran mechanics, that combined have over three decades of experience in their field.

Our service department performs a 12 point check prior to every departure. Our drivers also perform a pre-trip inspection as required by the Department of Transportation standard operating procedures. Working together both our service department and our drivers are raising the bar for maintenance standards as well as providing a worry free experience for our customers.

Cleaner & Greener

Colonial Tours is making efforts to be a Cleaner & Greener company. Our new Director of Maintenance has already taken steps to make our vehicle maintenance facility more environmentally friendly with the use of our clean burn waste oil heater. We use all the used motor oil, transmission fluid, and gear oil drained from our units during services to heat our service facility and recycle all of our old antifreeze, the coolant drained during service is sent out to be filtered and is brought back to us in concentrated form so we can re-use it. We have begun to make our business a more environmentally conscious operation trying to do our part to keep the planet cleaner and save some of our precious natural resources. Our services department also oversees all of our cleaning so that our valued customers never enter a sub-standard vehicle.
